About MC Electrical

MC Electrical has been operating for 17 years and has earned an industry-wide reputation for quality workmanship, with industry-leading solar, battery, heat pump and EV charger installations. We’re located in Eagle Farm, and our jobs are usually within a 50km radius of Brisbane CBD.

About the role

The role rapidly progresses from Trades Assistant to an electrical apprenticeship. The first part of your apprenticeship will be installing solar panels on the roof — including rail installation and wiring. As your apprenticeship progresses, you'll work on high-end home batteries (Tesla, BYD, Fronius), switchboard upgrades, EV charger installations, heat pumps and basic home automation.

We usually employ mature-age apprentices, but juniors are also welcome to apply. A background in carpentry, roofing or another trade is a huge advantage. Applicants must be 18 years or older to be eligible for this apprenticeship position.

Benefits & perks

At MC Electrical, you will:

  • Be part of a friendly, positive and professional team of tradies and apprentices.
  • Have a pool room / gaming room at the warehouse for Friday socials.
  • Take monthly rostered days off.
  • Be proud of your workmanship — we're not interested in "smashing out jobs".
  • Learn from the best electricians in the solar and battery storage industry, installing industry-leading products and best-practice methods.
  • Be part of the climate solution — not part of the problem.

Skills & experience

  • Should be fit and strong — able to lift 24kg solar panels onto a roof.
  • Must have a current open driver's licence and your own vehicle.
  • Cert II in Electrotechnology is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Must have permanent residency or Australian citizenship to be eligible.
  • Must be good with a pool cue — but not too good 😉

The role is full-time, starting out on a casual rate. The hourly rate depends on experience.
